Across Horizons is a BKDKBK zine inspired by the 2024 popularity poll art! A fusion of fantasy and steampunk, this zine will focus on Katsuki and Izuku as they take to the skies... on the backs of dragons!

General Application Guidelines

You must be 18 or over to apply to this zine.Before submitting your application, please familiarize yourself with the application guidelines listed here.🧡 By submitting your application, you are confirming that you are aware of and agree to follow our schedule and contributor guidelines.🧡 If accepted, you will be required to have a Discord and join our server. This will be how we communicate throughout the creation process.🧡 We are asking for 3 of your best works! Artists and writers are also encouraged but not required to submit a portfolio. Your samples should convey the type of style and quality you wish to create for this zine.🧡 Applicants may apply for more than one position, but we cannot guarantee that you will be accepted for multiple positions.🧡 SFW samples are preferred but you may submit NSFW samples. One of your samples must be SFW, however.🧡 If using a NSFW sample, please include content warnings.🧡 Please refrain from using samples which include problematic content such as noncon, underage sexual content, scat, etc. If you have any questions about what not to include in your application, please DM us on Twitter ask us a question on Retrospring.This is not a moral judgment. No creator will be penalized for any content they create outside the zine.🧡 If you are accepted as a contributor, you will have the option of creating for the NSFW digital add-on as well, but it will not be required.In addition, please note that the Across Horizons Zine does not condone the use of AI of any kind. This includes both in applications as well as in the work you will create in our project. If AI is present in any applications we receive, we will no longer take the app into consideration. If an accepted contributor is found to be using AI in their work, they will immediately be removed without compensation and their work will be removed from the final product. Writer Guidelines

🧡 Writers are required to submit two samples and have the option to submit an additional third sample.🧡 Each sample should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words.🧡 At least one sample must feature Katsuki and Izuku in a romantic relationship🧡 At least one sample must be SFW.🧡 At least one sample must be a full and complete piece.🧡 Other samples may be excerpts; however, they must be able to stand alone.🧡 A link to your portfolio (Google Drive, Ao3, etc.) is encouraged but not required.🧡 Links to Twitter threads will not be considered. If you wish to submit a thread, please copy it to a document first.

Page Artist Guidelines

🧡 Page artists are required to submit three samples.🧡 At least one sample featuring Izuku is recommended, but not required.🧡 At least one sample featuring Katsuki is recommended, but not required.🧡 At least one sample featuring dragons is recommended, but not required.🧡 SFW works are preferred, and at least one sample must be SFW.🧡 At least one sample must have a full background.🧡 At least one sample must be in full color.🧡 A link to your portfolio (Google Drive, etc.) is highly encouraged but not required.🧡 Samples may be submitted as Twitter links, however google drive is preferred.

Merch Artist Guidelines

🧡 Merch artists are required to submit three samples.🧡 Merchandise examples are highly encouraged but not required.🧡 At least one sample featuring Izuku is recommended, but not required.🧡 At least one sample featuring Katsuki is recommended, but not required.🧡 At least one sample featuring dragons is recommended, but not required.🧡 SFW works are preferred, and at least one sample must be SFW.🧡 At least one sample must have a full background if you wish to create a print.🧡 At least one sample must be in full color.🧡 A link to your portfolio (Google Drive, etc.) is highly encouraged but not required.🧡 Samples may be submitted as Twitter links, however google drive is preferred.

General Contributor Guidelines

You must be 18 or over to participate in this zine.🧡Across Horizons is a BKDKBK dragon rider zine, focusing on the relationship between Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku. Other characters may appear, but the focus should remain on BKDKBK. Polyamorous relationships are not allowed.🧡You may not share any screenshots, WIPs, concepts, or discussions from the zine or Discord server.🧡All contributors are expected to create brand new works which are relevant to the theme of Across Horizons.🧡 All contributors will be expected to submit their work for feedback. By applying, you are agreeing to work with the mod team when it comes time to edit and finalize.🧡 Within the main zine, suggestive themes are not allowed but can be implied if the rating remains at about a PG-13 level.🧡 Within the NSFW zine, the following content is restricted:
- Underage explicit sexual content
- Toilet play (scat/piss/vomit)
- Noncon (dubcon will be allowed on a case-by-case basis)
- Age regression
- Bestiality (monsterfucking is allowed on a case-by-case basis given the nature of the zine; the monster must also be sentient as either Katsuki or Izuku in dragon form, either hybrid or a full dragon)This is not a moral judgment. No creator will be penalized for any content they create outside the zine.

Writer Guidelines

🧡Across Horizons will be accepting 6 writers through applications.🧡 Writers are expected to create one completed work between 2,000 and 3,000 words.🧡 Writers are expected to pitch 2-3 ideas for the mod team to decide between.🧡 Writers are expected to create a piece which fits the theme. The work should include dragons, and it is highly encouraged that the work include steampunk elements as well.🧡 Writers may create a work in the NSFW section, but they will not be required to.🧡 Writers must adhere to the style guide for consistency's sake. If you have any questions or concerns, please just ask a mod!🧡 Writers must share their works as Google Docs with the permissions set to allow suggestions for check-ins.

Page Artist Guidelines

🧡 Across Horizons will be accepting at least 12 page artists through applications.🧡 Page artists are expected to create a certain amount of artwork depending on which position they have been accepted for. The positions are as follows:
A) 1 SFW single page and (at minimum) 2 SFW spot arts for 1 writer
B) 2 SFW single page OR 1 SFW single page and 1 NSFW single page
C) 1 SFW spread or 2-page comic🧡 Any artist may create a work in the free NSFW PDF, but they will not be required to.🧡 Artists are expected to submit 2-3 pitch ideas for each page for the mod team to choose between.🧡 Artists are expected to create a piece which fits the theme of the zine. It is highly encouraged for the work to depict or allude to dragons, and it is also highly encouraged for the work to include steampunk elements.🧡 Page artists are expected to conform to a B5 300 dpi template, color profile CMYK.

Merch Artist Guidelines

🧡 Across Horizons will be accepting at least 3 merch artists through applications.🧡 Merch artists are expected to submit 2-3 pitches per merch item for the mod team to decide between.🧡 Each merch artist will be expected to create two physical merch pieces, with the option to create a third piece.🧡 Merch Artists are expected to create SFW merch.🧡 Specifications for each merch item will be provided upon joining the server.
